From Our Readers

In EVERY issue I find something that says "You must knit me..." I truly thought my stash was under control, but in the issue I got last week (January, 2007! YIKES) Soft Harmony, Ripple Effect and In My Denims just absolutely BEGGED me to frog alllll my WIP and start them NOW. Though I, like many other readers, wish you would publish a little more frequently, I guess it's a GOOD thing you don't. Keep up the good, no GREAT work!

I just wanted to drop you a quick note and let you know that I loved Kathleen Power Johnson's article on fixing common knitting mistakes. I am looking forward to her future articles! Thanks so much for starting to include simple how-to articles. I also enjoy reading the articles featuring new stitches in dishcloths. I keep your magazines, and wish I had enough time to do all the projects I am in love with! Thanks again for the new how-to series.

I had just gotten some size 17 circular needles and was trying to make an afghan with them all curled up. Then your magazine came with the solution. I undid what I had done so far and followed your solution for straightening them. It worked great. Thank you so very much. I think if I had tried for one more day with the curly needles I would have thrown them away. I, also, made a holder for all of my circular needles which I hang in a closet.

I so enjoy your magazine. I have learned some new things and refreshed my knowledge of knitting and love so many of your patterns. I have been knitting for 44 years and am now teaching my 5 year old granddaughter how to knit. I taught her mother (my daughter) when she was young. I make baby hats for newborns at their local hospital and the 5 year old takes great pride in helping me with them. I am planning to make 3 other projects from this issue. Thank you for your great magazine.

I love your magazine. I gave a Christmas gift subscription to a friend, and so far have heard that it has been passed onto a Sister and a Mother for a look-see, so who knows, you may have more subscribers in the future from Canada.

I am a present subscriber to Creative Knitting magazine and I just want you to know I love "creative knitting." The magazine is awesome, great patterns, colorful photos, and I love the fact that a beginner to an experienced knitter can pick up this magazine and make something. Keep up the good work!

Thank you to you Bobbie and thank you to all the creative heads and hands that put this magazine together. When it arrived today - I saw it and just said "YES!!!" - sat down and started going through it immediately. I adore the design, the variety, the texture and color - I nearly drool when I go through it. I am an artist and I swear I just want to paint after reading it. The knitting comes later when I can afford the yarn. Thank you for the dishcloth patterns every issue! I knit primarily for charity right now, so shawls and simple sweaters, mittens and hats are great, dishcloths are SUPER! Thank you. Your magazine is just the thing I have been searching for - up to date - beautiful textiles - stylish clothing and wonderful creative accessories - exquisite LYS yarns and then some more mainstream yarns - something for everyone. What can I say, "I LOVE Creative Knitting Magazine." I know it takes a great deal of work to put out a magazine - but I still have to say I wish I could see more issues - although this way it leaves one craving the next. I will certainly recommend your magazine at our knitting workshops this summer. Thank you again for a Masterpiece well done!!!

I laughed out loud when I read the line in your May editorial about "prevaricating to your family" about buying new yarn and needles. I tend to sneak yarn in and put it in my stash before anyone notices. Is this an illness or what? The patterns in the new issue are great. I love the cover sweater. The more cables the better. The parts of the issues that have how to do different techniques are valuable. One can always use a refresher. Keep up the good job.

Thanks for the wonderful magazine. I am addicted to needle work (knitting, crocheting, tatting) and other fiber art. I am also addicted to pattern magazines. I just LOVE Creative Knitting! It is so nice to get patterns in classic designs that are well written. I really appreciate having the choice to use expensive fancy yarn or inexpensive department store yarn because the materials are described in general terms instead of indicating specific yarns (which are also mentioned). The dishcloth patterns on the last page are fun and make great filler projects. Thanks again for a great magazine that will be added to my ever growing collection of patterns that include my grandmother's pattern books!

I just wanted to thank you for the frequent inclusion of attractive plus-sized patterns for men and women up to 3X in your magazine. It seems that a number of other publications and yarn manufacturers either ignore us entirely, or throw us a bone by giving us something matronly, boxy or unsexy, perhaps in an effort to hide our obviously undesirable flesh. Your magazine gives us a great opportunity to play up our positive features and make us feel good while looking sharp with classic lines and real person fit, in a variety of yarns and techniques from cables to lace. I can feel good about purchasing your magazine and I like to support merchants that support people like me, so keep up the good work and know your staff's efforts are appreciated.
