Patricia Offers an Idea

Hi, I am a relatively new subscriber to your magazine, but I absolutely love it, and I just couldn't believe all the archived issues that I also have access to! It's just wonderful!

I thoroughly enjoy the Creative Letters, so I thought I would share a little something with other subscribers. I always buy an extra ball of yarn when I'm knitting a fall/winter sweater, and I knit a matching hat. I use a very basic hat pattern, but I incorporate some of the sweater pattern around the edge. I started doing it for my daughter when she was very young; now that knit hats are very popular, I do it for myself too. It looks great, always gets favorable responses, and it can also be a lifesaver on bad-hair days!

The archived issues contain such a wealth of information, patterns and other references; we're pleased to make them available to subscribers of the digital version. Love your hat idea; it's a novel way to make an ensemble for any winter sweaters you create. That extra ball of yarn can also be a great idea if you require just a bit more yarn for your project! -- Editor
