Sue's suggestion for storage

I was reading your yarn-storage ideas in your newsletter. Although I don't have nearly as much yarn as you, I came up with the idea of placing my yarn in bags in small storage crates and putting them on closet shelves. What really helped me was writing down the yarn names, colors, amounts and types of yarn on differently colored 3 x 5 inch cards, punching a hole in the corner of each card and placing them on a metal ring. The cards are numbered, and so are my crates, so I know which yarn is in which crate. I keep the ring of cards in my knitting basket, and when I get an idea to knit a pattern, I check over my cards to see if I have the yarn I need. --Sue Kuehnl

Yours is a very organized system, Sue. I'll bet there will be other knitters who find your suggestion just right for their stash too. --Editor
