Whispers of Romance

The summer issue of Creative Knitting hit the newsstands late last month, and it is filled with so many amazing pieces. From romantic cardigans and shrugs to charming floral and sea-themed pieces, all levels of knitters will truly enjoy the projects presented.

Jill Wright outdid herself, again, with the stunning piece featured on the cover, as did Rimma Polikarpova with her beautiful stitch pattern used in Cables & Waves. I am particularly fond of the sea-themed kids' items as well.

But, there are three projects that really shouted out to me:

Kate Atherley's My First Socks pattern and tutorial. The pattern is super quick and easy, while her article is rich with very detailed images and explanations. This is the only sock tutorial you will probably ever need.

Beth Whiteside's weaving article and design, It's All in the Details. This is such a unique and beautiful concept! I've never been very good at embroidery, but I never considered the potential impact of other methods that Whiteside demonstrates. Weaving! Who knew?!

Whispers of Romance shrug by Nazanin S. Fard is the epitome of femininity and sophistication in one piece. It looks comfy, as well as dressy, and perfect for so many body types. This is such a lovely piece that will look good year-round.

The summer issue is on stands today, so go grab your copy!
