Have you seen the charming new knitting book from Annie's? Quick-Knit Flower Frenzy: 17 Mix & Match Knitted Flowers is a lovely collection by designers such as Jill Wright, May Ho, Mihaela Manitiu, Lorna Miser, Carrie Hammett and more.

The flowers are beautiful, and I can see using them in a variety of ways, such as adorning your knit projects, hair accessories, jewelry or even as decoration on a handcrafted card. As a matter of fact, I think my Mother's Day cards this year will incorporate some of those flowers! Genius! Each flower is delightfully unique and quick to knit. But the real bonus is that each project includes a step-by-step picture tutorial, making it a truly perfect book for any level of knitter.

I thought, at first, that the flowers might be difficult, but the instructions are clear and most utilize very basic techniques. Primrose by Jill Wright, for example, is simply knits, purls, yarn overs and a provisional cast-on using a crochet hook (which the picture tutorial shows you how to work). I adore Sakura by May Ho and can't wait to knit it!

If you want to try something new or different, definitely add this book to your to-do list. I think you'll enjoy it as much as I do.
