If you're in the mood for bunches of bobbles, this light-weight lacy skullcap makes for a special project.

Circumference: 20 inches (unstretched)
32 sts and 40 rnds=5 inches/12.7cm in Bobble Lace pat (unstretched).
To save time take time to check gauge.
Make bobble (MB): [K1, p1, k1, p1, k1] into st, pass first 4 sts over 5th st.
Bobble Lace (multiple of 16 sts)
Rnd 1: *P2, k1, MB, k3, MB, k1, p2, k5; rep from * around.
Rnd 2: *P2, k2, p3, k2, p2, k5; rep from * around.
Rnd 3: *P2, k7, p2, k2tog, yo, k1, yo, ssk; rep from * around.
Rnd 4: Rep Rnd 2.
Rep Rnds 1-4 for pat.
A chart for the Bobble Lace pat is included for those preferring to work from charts.
Change to double-pointed needles when stitches no longer fit comfortably on circular needle.
Cast on 128 sts; place marker for beg of rnd and join, taking care not to twist sts.
Work 5 rnds in P2, K2 Rib.
Work 28 rnds (7 reps) of Bobble Lace pat.
Dec for crown, following chart -- 8 sts.
Cut yarn, leaving a 5-inch tail. Using tapestry needle, thread tail through rem sts, and pull tight; secure on WS. Weave in all ends. Block as necessary.
