I hope you found some knitted gift ideas in this issue that will get you started on your holiday list. I start projects notoriously late, and sometimes I manage to pull them off, sometimes not ... I am facing one of those "not going to make it" moments right now.
However, I had an idea while writing this newsletter. A very dear friend is celebrating her 50th birthday in two weeks. Although the party invitation specified "no gifts," I sometimes find that rule impossible to follow. I'd thought of knitting her a scarf that has 50 somethings in it. Stripes aren't her style, so that won't work. Fifty different patterns would be far too chaotic. Fifty flowers would probably take too long. But while searching for patterns to inspire your knitting, I was inspired myself: I'm going to knit a scarf with 50 ruffles. Perfect.
Knit on,
