Materials

Worsted weight yarn (100% wool; 80 yds/50g per skein): 3 skeins pink
Size 5 (3.75mm) 16-inch circular needle
Size 8 (5mm) 24-inch circular needle or size needed to obtain gauge
Stitch markers, 1 in CC for beg of rnd
Approx 3 1/2 yds ribbon

Gauge

18 sts and 24 rows = 4 inches/10cm in St st with larger needles.
To save time, take time to check gauge.

Special Abbreviations

Make 1 Right (M1R): Insert LH needle from back to front under strand between the last st worked and the next st on LH needle, k1 through front of loop. Stitch slants to the right.

Make 1 Left (M1L): Insert LH needle from front to back under strand between the last st worked and the next st on LH needle, k1-tbl. Stitch slants to the left.

Body
Neckband

With smaller needle, cast on 80 sts. Place marker for beg of rnd and join without twisting.

Rnds 1-3: Knit around.

Rnd 4 (eyelet rnd): *K3, yo, k2tog; rep from * around.

Rnds 5 and 6: Knit around.

Rnd 7 (turning ridge): Purl around.

Rnds 8 and 9: Knit around.

Rnd 10 (eyelet rnd): Rep Rnd 4.

Rnds 11-13: Knit around.

Beg raglan shaping

Change to larger circular needle and knit 1 rnd, placing markers for raglan shaping as follows: K13, place marker, k14, place marker, k26, place marker, k14, place marker, k13, leave beg of marker in place.

Rnd 1 (Inc rnd): *Knit to 1 st before raglan marker, M1R, k1, sl marker, k1, M1L; rep from * around (8 sts inc) -- 88 sts.

Rnd 2: Knit around.

Rep [Rnds 1 and 2] 8 times more -- 152 sts.

Work even in St st (knit every rnd) until topper measures 3 inches from last inc rnd or 1/2 inch less than desired length.

Eyelet Border

Rnd 1: *K1, p1; rep from * around.

Rnd 2 (eyelet rnd): *[P1, k1] twice, yo, k2tog; rep from * until 14 sts rem, end [p1, k1] twice, p1, yo, p2tog, [k1, p1] twice, k1, yo, k2tog.

Beg with a knit st, bind off all sts in seed st (purl the knit sts and knit the purl sts).

Finishing

Fold neckband to inside along turning ridge. Match eyelets on inside of neckband to eyelets on outside of neckband, neatly sew neckband facing inside of topper. Use a loose tension on sewing yarn so neckband will retain its stretch.

Block as desired.

Referring to photo, beg off-center and weave ribbon in and out of eyelets in neckband. Tie bow and trim ribbon ends.

Rep along bottom edge.
