Approx 40 x 49 inches
Gauge16 sts and 24 rows = 4 inches/10cm in pat st with larger needles
To save time, take time to check gauge.
Bobble: (K1, yo, k1) in same st, turn; p1, (p1, yo, p1) in same st, p1, turn; k5, turn; p2tog, p1, p2tog, turn; sl 2 sts knitwise, k1, psso.
M1 knitwise: Make a clockwise lp and place on RH needle.
M1 purlwise: Make a counterclockwise lp and place on RH needle.
Circular needle is used to accommodate large number of sts. Do not join; work in rows.
With larger needle, cast on 147 sts.
Referring to chart, work even in Bobbles & Lace pat until blanket measures approx 46 inches, ending with Row 8 of pat.
Bind off.
With RS facing and smaller needle, pick up and knit 191 sts along 1 long side of blanket.
Row 1 (WS): P2, *k1, p1; rep from * to last 3 sts, k1, p2.
Row 2: K2, M1 knitwise, *p1, k1; rep from * to last 2 sts, M1 knitwise, k2.
Row 3: P3, *k1, p1; rep from * to last 4 sts, k1, p3.
Row 4: K2, M1 purlwise, *k1, p1; rep from * to last 3 sts, k1, M1 purlwise, k2.
[Rep Rows 1 to 4] once, rep Row 1.
Bind off.
Rep border along rem long side of afghan.
With RS facing and smaller needle, pick up and knit 145 sts along cast-on edge of blanket.
Work as for long side.
Rep border along bound-off edge.
Sew mitered corners.
