  • Light weight yarn* (136 yds/50g per ball): 10 (10, 11, 12, 14, 16) balls ruby #60409
  • Size 3 (3.25mm) needles

Shape cap
Bind off 5 (6, 7, 8, 10, 12) sts at beg of next 2 rows. (68, 72, 76, 82, 86, 90 sts)
Row 1 (RS): K2, k2tog, knit to last 4 sts, ssk, k2.
Row 2: Purl.
Rep Rows 1 and 2 until 26 (26, 30, 30, 32, 38) sts rem.
Next row: Ssk, knit to last 2 sts, k2tog.
Next row: P2tog, purl to last 2 sts, p2tog tbl.

Assembly
Pin garment pieces to measurements. Cover with a damp cloth, leaving cloth to dry.
Sew shoulder seams. Sew in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seams.

Body edging
With smaller needles, cast on 8 sts.
Row 1 (RS): Sl 1, k1, [yo, p2tog, {k1, p1, k1} in next st] twice. (12 sts)
Row 2: [K3, yo, p2tog] twice, k2. (12 sts)
Row 3: Sl 1, k1, [yo, p2tog, k3] twice. (12 sts)
Row 4: Bind off 2 sts (1 st rem on needle after bind off), yo, p2tog, bind off next 2 sts (4 sts rem on needle), yo, p2tog, k2. (8 sts)
Rep Rows 1-4 until edging (slightly stretched), will fit around outer edge of cardigan, beg and ending at left side seam and sewing in place as you knit, easing around corners. Bind off and sew ends of edging tog at seam.

Sleeve edging
Work as for body edging, beg and ending at seam and sewing in place as you knit. Bind off and sew ends of edging tog at seam.

Sew button on left front at beg of V-neck shaping. Use eyelet pat of edging as buttonhole.
