This intriguing sweater is accented on the front by a central bias panel adorned with eyelets radiating at waist level.

Instructions are given for smallest size, with larger sizes in parentheses. When only 1 number is given, it applies to all sizes.

Finished Measurements

Chest: 35 (39 1/2, 43, 47, 50 1/2, 54 1/2) inches

Length: 25 3/4 (26, 26 1/4, 26 1/2, 26 3/4, 27) inches

Materials

  • Dream in Color Smooshy (fingering weight; 100% superwash merino wool; 450 yds/113g per skein): 3 (4, 4, 5, 5, 5) skeins aquajet #26
  • Size 6 (4mm) needles or size needed to obtain gauge
  • Size E/4 (3.5mm) crochet hook
  • Removable stitch markers

Gauge

19 sts and 34 rows = 4 inches/10cm in St st.

58 sts = 8 3/4 inches in Center Bias Panel, with side edges aligned vertically.

To save time, take time to check gauge.

Special Abbreviations

Make 1 Left (M1L): Insert tip of LH needle from front to back under strand between last st worked and next st on LH needle; knit into back of resulting loop.

Make 1 Right (M1R): Insert tip of LH needle from back to front under strand between last st worked and next st on LH needle; knit into front of resulting loop.

Shape Left Shoulder

Bind off 5 (5, 6, 7, 7, 8) sts at beg of next RS row -- 10 (12, 13, 14, 16, 18) sts.

Purl 1 row.

Bind off 5 (6, 6, 7, 8, 9) sts at beg of next RS row -- 5 (6, 7, 7, 8, 9) sts.

Right Neck

With RS facing, join yarn to 15 (17, 19, 21, 23, 26) sts still on the needle.

Row 1 (RS): K1, M1L, k1, k2tog, knit to end.

Bind off rem 22 (26, 28, 32, 34, 38) sts.

Finishing

Block to measurements.

Sew shoulder seams. Sew sleeves to body. Sew sleeve and side seams.

Edging

With RS facing and beg at lower corner of left neck, work 1 row of sc evenly up left neck.

Weave in all ends.
