Click here for larger image.I don't know who first had the idea to knit with beads, but it seems to date back to the Victorian era. Knitting with beads may have been used to emulate needlepoint that was popular at the time. Since then, there have been many innovations, and beads have made appearances in all kinds of knitting.

Some methods are easier to work than others, and all of them will add pizzazz to your knitting. In The Loop gave you a glimpse of three ways to knit with beads and also explained how to add beads to the Free Pattern. And from the "shameless self-promotion" department, may I suggest that you take a look at my book Knit One, Bead Too?
