Daunted by Double-Points
"I have been knitting for about the last 50 years but have always stuck with easy- to intermediate-level patterns. I think my projects have turned out really well. Recently, I tried using the four-needle technique when doing some baby hats. I am having quite a time and have reverted back to knitting with two needles with a seam to sew at the end. I would love to be successful with the four-needle technique. Am I missing something? Or am I just uncoordinated?"

You aren't missing anything, and you're certainly not uncoordinated! Working on double-points is a great way to learn the concept of working in the round, but they can also feel quite awkward. There's hope because you have several solutions to work small-circumference projects that don't involve multiple needles. One alternative is to use the magic-loop method, which allows you to comfortably work on one long circular needle. To learn more about this invaluable technique, check out my tutorial here. -- Editor
