Annie's Exciting Highlights
Annie's and Creative Knitting have tons going on these days, all of which you will definitely want to know about!
Yarn Crawl LA
Annie's is a proud sponsor of YARN CRAWL LA 2013 as it returns for its second year, with 31 retail shops that span over 2,000 square miles from Claremont to Santa Monica and Long Beach to Santa Clarita. This is the largest yarn crawl SoCal has ever seen! In addition, there will be the amazing presence of a retail yarn truck, the Yarn Over Truck, which will be retailing at various spots throughout the county. From April 11-14, 2013, crawlers are invited to shop for the latest yarns, enjoy special events, demonstrations, guest designers and bond over their love for it all. Fiber enthusiasts will receive a complimentary "passport" which will be stamped at each store they visit with a chance to win gift baskets and gift certificates! Don't miss this celebration of knit, crochet and yarn!
When: April 11-14, 2013; minimal store hours 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.
How: Go to YarnCrawlLA.com to sign up for your complimentary passport. Special-edition project tote bags are $5.
Where: Start your yarn-crawl journey at any of the following retail locations.
The Making of a Magazine
I hope you got the chance to read part 1 of the About.com three-part series where Creative Knitting magazine editor Kara Gott Warner shares insight on how to submit a professional proposal to get published in a magazine. She's taking us behind the scenes to see what it is like to put together a knock-out issue. Part 2 comes out in three days, so go check it out!
March 15, Part 1: Piles of Proposals -- Get the inside scoop from the editor on what it takes to get published in a magazine.
April 15, Part 2: Concept, Color & Creation -- Learn how the editor chooses designs, creates color stories and a theme.
May 15, Part 3: Photography to Print -- Get a behind-the-scenes look at what happens during a photo shoot and the final phases of putting it all together.

Have you been by the Creative Knitting Facebook page? Be sure to get over there before April 14 so you can enter to win yarn for the Plymouth Carefree Cover Up! I've also heard through the grapevine that there will be another great giveaway toward the end of the month (wink, wink).
