From the Prairie to the Big Woods

My generous, creative brother Marty and his brilliant and beautiful wife Lee are both veterinarians and have an animal hospital in Lilburn, just a bit east of Atlanta proper. They have a warm and welcoming home with too many guest rooms for their own good and had extended an invitation which I was incapable of refusing. It was the perfect time to leave my little house on the prairie to visit the big house in the woods, to borrow a few phrases from Laura Ingalls Wilder.

Marty and Lee, along with their delightful Cavapoos Tag and Puck, made me feel so comfortable and cozy in their suburban home that I could have remained there for another week without a qualm. Their pool was the perfect temperature and the nightly Scrabble games were such fun that I could have worn out my welcome except for their remarkable capacity for accepting my idiosyncrasies and tendencies to self-absorption.
