Project Linus Blanket
Hannah suggests:
I've been knitting, crocheting and sewing for about 70 years. I have started using the extra yarn I manage to acquire to make blankets to donate to Project Linus. My grandson received a Linus blanket when he went in for surgery in a hospital in Michigan. Their requirements are any size, any method of construction and any color for ages preemie to 18. This activity is perfect for me as well as many others. Please pass this idea on to other knitters who have managed to accumulate leftover yarn which could be mixed and matched to make a baby or child's blanket. I didn't know what I would do with the extra yarn, and now I've found something that I know will be appreciated by some child, somewhere.
Cartoonist Charles Schulz would no doubt be proud that one of his characters inspired the outpouring of love generated by this organization. Thanks for the suggestion. To learn more, please go to ProjectLinus.org for details and patterns. –- Editor
