Kara’s Quick-Knit Tip: Making I-Cords

If you’ve yet to make your first I-cord, it’s high-time that you give one a try. Follow these simple steps and let’s get started!

Cast 4 stitches onto a double-point needle.

Step 1: Knit across all 4 stitches.

Step 2: Without turning, slide the 4 stitches to the right end of the same needle.

Step 3: Bring the yarn from the last stitch across the back of the work and knit from right to left across the row.

Keep working until your I-cord is the desired length.

Join me next week, and I’ll show you how to make an applied I-cord, which makes a perfect finish for necklines and armholes.
