Most weekends I enjoy venturing out with my family to one of the best-kept secrets in town, The Gathering House. This is one of those special places where you can have breakfast, lunch, or simply enjoy a visit with a friend over a gourmet coffee and a good slice of homemade pie. In addition to this being a popular eatery in town, it’s also a crafty fun house!
After grabbing a bite, one of my favorite activities is to peruse the many antique and craft boutiques that fill every inch of this two-story space. Without fail I always find something exciting to snatch up!
Hands down, my favorite boutique contains a generous selection of Needlework & Crafts magazines from the early 1960s. Paging through these old publications makes me feel like a kid in a candy store. As I turn each page, I find myself going back in time on a special little journey that is custom-made just for me.
In addition to the plethora of crafty finds, I’m also always on the lookout that unique dish, an accent furniture piece, or that uncommon pottery piece.
With every weekend comes a new discovery to be experienced!
